Starter recipes

  • Jupiter brass stab

Saw stack, fast filter ENV, short amp.

    1. Both VCOs saw, slight detune.
    2. VCF ENV amount high, short decay.
    3. Play syncopated stabs.
  • Soft string layer

Slow envelopes, low res, chorus on.

    1. Triangle/saw mix.
    2. Long A/R on amp ENV.
    3. Gentle LFO to pitch for vibrato.
  • Cross-mod growler

VCO cross-mod for metallic edges before the filter softens them.

    1. Enable cross-mod / sync per panel legends.
    2. Keep filter half-open so grit stays musical.
    3. Compare to Hydrasynth OSC Sync Mutant for the modern cousin.
  • Two-envelope split

ENV-1 to filter, ENV-2 to amp — classic poly discipline.

    1. Short filter ENV, longer amp sustain for pads.
    2. Invert: short amp, long filter for soft brass swells.
    3. Write both as named patches so live recall is instant.

FAQ

How do I get 8 voices?
Boutique chain mode: MIDI two JP-08 units together so they act as one 8-voice Jupiter-style instrument.
JP-08 vs JU-06A?
JP-08 is dual-VCO Jupiter poly attitude; JU-06A is DCO + legendary chorus. Pads on both, but Jupiter likes stacked oscillators and cross-mod more.
